Lessons Learned Today
Don't go to spinning class wearing a thong *chafe*. On the plus side my new sports bra put in an amazing performance.

Rice Rice Baby
Enough about my underwear. I made a risotto for the first time last night and it came out well, even if I do say so myself, which I obviously do as I just have done. Anyway I must cook for other people more often as it seems much less futile than cooking solely for myself and I make much more of an effort so the results are much nicer.

Fatcamp Fun
Yes we've all missed this! I'm doing really well, firstly for not putting all the lard that I've lost over the last couple of years back on but also for still keeping at it. I'm still losing (or loosing as they love to say irritatingly on the fatcamp forums) albeit slowly and steadily. I was thinking about all the benefits while I was "spinning". I am so much fitter than I was, in fact, for the first time in years I can actually say I'm pretty fit and mean it. Hoorah! My legs looked much leaner while they were pedalling away and people have started to comment about the difference in how I look (although my dad says I have a face like a coffee pot - long and thin! Thanks dad). Yay me.

White Rats Can Jump
As I found out when I tried to give Boo a bath on Sunday. Doity rat. He kept hurling himself successfully onto my arm from the bottom of the bath which was quite some doing. I felt awful about bathing him but his fur was getting really greasy and manky. He musn't be cleaning himself properly because of his teeth, poor baby. Now I have a wonderfully soft, fluffly rat who smells faintly of bananas. We weren't sure what shampoo would be safe to use on him. If only we weren't hippahs then all my shampoo would have been tested on animals and we would have known it was ok!

Horror
I bought a few exercise DVDs as I'm getting bored of my old ones. Not very impressed so far. The yoga one has very poor sound quality and is a bit boring to be honest and the salsacise one which looked like loads of fun really isn't as there are only about 5 moves throughout and it's really slow. Even worse, the instructor has a cameltoe and once you've noticed it you just can't ignore it!

Why do people have to be so fucking snippy?
Ok, I may have done something wrong without knowing. Tell me what it is, tell me why it has upset you. Maybe then we can discuss it like normal adults. If you have misinterpreted something I've said and done, I can explain it. If I truly have done something stupid and insensitive I can apologise and correct my actions in future.

Do not say that everything's ok, only to ignore me or give me one word replies, sulk, whinge and especially don't expect me to keep being friendly with you when you are behaving like a fucking child.

Bloody women!

I have named them: Zippy, Bungle and George. Thanks Liz!

Mice are being adorable but still quite shy. They will come and sniff my fingers though. Them and ducklings in one day... an overdose of cuteness!

Ducklings!

Well if all the banging on about the ratties wasn't enough, there are now 3 new additions to my household. Three cute little mice (not blind). I haven't named them yet because it's really hard to think of three vaguely related things that will suit them as names. Suggestions welcome.

I went to the petshop yesterday and loved the mice but I was slightly put off with having to get 3 of them as there were only 3 there and the petshop wouldn't sell them separately as it would have meant one being left on his own. I decided to have a think about it. I also visited Pets at Home to have a look at their wares. They had adorable chinese and roborovski hamsters. Roborovskis, while being so cute, seemed too small and fast to make good pets but I was very tempted to get a chinese. The guy who "helped" us clearly didn't know what he was talking about though and I don't like Pets at Home generally. I again decided to think about it.

Today I decided I wanted to get either a hamster or the mice so we went back to the first petshop. Quite some time and £75 later I owned the mice. They let me hold one and I just had to buy them. They were so friendly and sweet. I was very impressed with this petshop, they seemed to really know what they talked about and made sure I knew everything I needed to know, plus gave each little guy a proper health check to show me they were fine and to show me how to do it.

The mice certainly put the rats to shame. When I first bought them, the rats wouldn't come out for days and just hid in their box whenever a sound was made. It took me many frustrating days of patiently coaxing them out before I started to see them properly. In contrast, the mice were straight out of their box, the minute I opened it, having a good old explore and climbing and jumping on everything (including each other), not in the least bit perturbed by our presence. They're asleep now, bless them.

There are times when I'm really glad that a working day has come to an end and today was one of them. The pressures off a bit next week but still plenty to do. Hopefully I'll have a nice relaxing time and shall not end the weekend as the ball of stress I currently am!

Still haven't finished the skiing writeup and have lost the bit of paper I was using as a memory aid. Oh no!

I'm the lightest I've been in 7 years. Hooray.

Woo just had a fantastic day. Started off taking lots of stuff to the tip so now I can move freely round my flat again. Not so interesting. Was then introduced to a huge clothing warehouse with lots of cool and unusual stuff. Then it was on to a pub with beer garden so we could have lunch in the sun, followed by a trip to Dnnington Castle to take photos, finished with a trip to Uffington Castle for a walk. Everything's looking so pretty again when the sun's out, now the trees are blossoming and flowers are blooming.
